Kona Village Ohana

Bulletin Board

You are a treasured part of the KVR ohana. We guests may not have the Village to unite us any more, but we do have the web. Furthermore, we want to know how you are doing, and we want  to help where we can.

Here's what I'm up to:

I’m gathering information from as many of the laid-off staff as I can. I’d like to know where you are, what you're doing, where you're working or where you're looking for work. I’d like to know if you have some kind of money-making sideline--a product, service, or a condo perhaps.

This section of the website will give you a chance to communicate with all the KVR guests who've said they want to be kept in the loop. (We have over 500 email addresses of guests.) Periodically, I will send a link to all of those folks. That way, we can keep in touch with each other...

Here's what you need to do to take part (and it’s really easy!): Send an email to me at:

mumpsimus1@gmail.com     Subject, KVR employee

1. Attach a picture of yourself.  That's important for folks like me who have an old brain with a lot of synapses that have gone missing.  If you've got a picture of yourself at work, that's best, but it must be a good likeness of your face.

2. Say what you did at KVR, (for example, breakfast server, gardener, night shift security).

3. If you've found a job, please say where you're working. If you're looking, please say what you're looking for. (You never know, somebody may have a way to help...)

4. If you've got a sideline--a condo, a product, a service, tell me the details and include links or pictures.

5.  Be sure to provide a way for someone to get in touch with you.

6. If your situation changes, let me know so I can update your listing.

Don’t struggle with it, just write it down!  I’m a pretty good editor, and if you’ll just tell me what you want to say, I’ll help you say it. (And we want pictures and email addresses.)

The Bulletin Board is provided as a way for the Kona Village staff to keep in touch with each other and with the Kona Village guests.

Trust me--It’s going to be pretty. As a guest, I can tell you that we really want to keep in touch with you folks who’ve made Kona Village such a wonderful haven for us. So please join us here.

Remember, we can’t go to KVR any more, so if we know you’re serving meals in a restaurant, we’ll eat there; if you’re selling used cars, we’ll drop by and kick the tires; if you’re demonstrating yo-yos on a street corner, we’ll buy one; if you’re playing Hawaiian songs on an accordion, we’ll......tell our friends, maybe. But we have to know you’re there, and this is the place to tell us. And if you’re looking for a job, this page will reach a lot of people and you never know...  We’d like to hear from everybody, even if it’s only to say you’re OK. You’ll never get ‘laid off’ from the Kona Village Ohana.

So give it a try. Please.
